This weekend, I made little paper dolls from cupcake liners. You know how I love cupcake liner crafts. Because sometimes I am just a little girl at heart, I made up little back stories for each of them. This one likes strawberries and likes to help mom in the kitchen, that one likes pancakes and plays make believe.

I made the rainbow cupcake liner paper dolls out of Martha Stewart cupcake liner treat wrappers and heavy weight cardtock. Muffin Tin Girl named a few, I named a few.

How to:

• Fold the cupcake liner in half and in half again until it forms a triangle for the dress, making sure to leave it as untouched and poofed out as possible (the more you touch it, the more it will wrinkle).
• Using a circle punch, or circle cutter, cut out a small circle for the head.
• Draw on some eyes and a mouth.
• Cut a circle for the hair the same size as the head. Cut it in half. Trim and play around with it to make a hairstyle. use your imagination.
• Using adhesive, glue the hair to the head.
• Freehand scissor cut some arms, angling the ends.
• Glue the arms to the cupcake liner dress, inserting them into the folds of the liner (I cut a slit in one side).
• Glue the head to the very tippy top of the liner (as shown). I used a liquid quick dry adhesive.
• Add embellishments as desired.
• They should stand up on their own. If they don’t, add a dab of glue to a small square of cardsock and set her on top.

It was hard to choose a favorite, I love them all. But Joy holds a special place in my heart. Cancer may be ugly, but bald is beautiful.

I am swimming in cupcake liners over here! Being the Muffin Tin Mom, I have a plethora of muffin and cupcake liners. I am always thinking up fun ways to use them “outside the tin”. Yesterday, Muffin Tin Girl performed in a "Reader's Theater" at school. Every young performer deserves flowers after a good performance. So, I made her a little Folded Muffin Cupcake Liner Flower.


After school when she came home, she wanted to make one of her very own folded cupcake liner flower. So, we did. I was very careful to explain how hot glue works. It was definitely a moment I will never forget as I remember the first time I used a hot glue gun with my mom. We worked together to create her flower, folding the muffin liners around a paper circle and adding a button.

I attached an alligator clip to the back using hot glue, so she could put it in her hair.




If there was a bonus, it would be that the pack of muffin liners was $1 at Dollar Tree. The clips were around $2.99 at Michaels (without a coupon), so with the items I had on hand, this project was around $2-4.


I cannot take credit for this idea. I was inspired by a several posts:

• I remember seeing the most adorable fabric pinwheel flowers from my friend Karissa at Triple Tasking.
• I also remember seeing how Amy of Living Locurto used muffin liners last year in her Valentine’s Family Craft Challenge.
• To make the leaves for the flowers, I cut them like the petals for my paper flower tutorial.

This paper pinwheel flower craft would make a great Girl Scouts group activity or Mother’s Day craft.

You'll need paper muffin cups or cupcake liners. I chose these adorable ones from the Martha Stewart Collection at Michael's Arts and Crafts. To make a heart, simply fold your liner in half several times until you get a triangle and round the edge with scissors. Open it up and cut along the folds.

If you own the board game Scrabble (or Bananagrams, which is a "speed scrabble" knock off pictured above), then this is a fun sorting activity for your preschooler.

Grab all your tiles and an empty muffin tin.
ave your little one sort the letters into each cup.
This activity works best with two 12 cup tins (but can always be altered of course).
We ended up putting the x's, y's and z's in a little pile next to the tin.

My son, who is not as alphabetically advanced as my daughter, liked the scaled down version I made below. I chose A,B and C and had him put them in order- he loved that.
