Strawberry Flowers Kids Snack

This little pot of strawberry flowers is the perfect spring snack. My kids loved it. Works great in a muffin tin meal. Here's the simple "how to":

You'll need:

  • Large Strawberries
  • Toothpicks
  • Honeydew Melon
Here's how:
  • Dice up some honeydew melon. Place in small bowl. Stick a few toothpicks in.
  • Slice your strawberries into circles. Using a small flower shaped cutter, cut them into flowers.
  • Place strawberry flowers onto toothpicks.

Eat and enjoy!

Where To Find 6 Cup Muffin Tin or Pan Online and In Stores

Many of you have emailed me with requests over the last few weeks wanting to know where to find 6 cup muffin tins. After emailing back and forth with one kind reader, I decided I would post about it. Because I am sure there are more of you out there. Because the 6 cup variety is used less frequently by traditional bakers, they are not as readily available as the 12 cup muffin tin.

I use both 6 cup and 12 cup tins when I make MTMS. 6 cup tins are significantly harder to come by and often times more expensive (go figure). SO here is a list of places that you can find them in stores and online.

In Stores:

Michaels/Hobby Lobby
Armed with a 40% off coupon, you can snag a cute shaped 6 cup silicone muffin pan made by Wilton for around $5.99

Sur La Table
You will find a what you are looking for in this charming store for around $9.95 (also available for purchase online.).

Walmart
The Walmart website says they have them available in stores.  However, I went in and they were out of stock. Check availability before you go in. You can also purchase it online and have it shipped, sometimes for free via their "site-to-store" option.

TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross
I went to 3 different locations and I was able to find 1 six cup muffin pan for $7.99. It was one of my favorite brands, Calphalon. Finding the right bake ware will be purely by chance, but when you do, it's usually very good quality.

Dollar Store
Check your local dollar store. They may have them in stock. Mine didn't, but I have seen them in the past.

Online:

Amazon has a wide variety of brands and prices.
Target has a wide variety and some square options which are super cute.

So, I live in California. Where have you been able to find them in other areas?

Easy Green Apple Flower

A pretty little apple flower for snack time today. My kids eat apples any which way I serve them, so this food art was really just for me.

Be sure to slice your apples super thin so they lay flat, and choose a round-ish food for the center. Carrots perhaps? Or maybe red grapes or a dollop of peanut butter.

What do your kids like for snack time?

Muffin Tin Monday

Welcome to another edition of Muffin Tin Monday, the weekly blog link up that shares reader submitted Muffin Tin Meals. Muffin Tin Mom is the official home of the Muffin Tin Meal and your place to find all things MTM.

Serving food in a muffin tin is a fantastic way to introduce new foods to kids. It also helps parents break up the "sandwich rut" as I like to call it. You never know what your child might try.

I bought some "sandwich thins" made by orrow wheat at the market this week. They look like rectangles. The bread is soft whole wheat goodness. The kids loved them!

We used butterfly silicone cupcake liners we found at Target last year. Keep your eyes peeled this year for some fun finds like these.

In this "tin": 4 mini turkey and cheese sanwiches, tangerines, fresh broccoli and ranch dip

Now, it's your turn. Did you make a muffin tin meal? link up here by adding the URL of your blog post or photo by clicking on the "add your link" button below. Happy Monday!

Panera Bread: My Favorite "Me" Spot

I have really enjoyed getting to share with you about Panera Bread and their deliciousness. I would like to be able to tell you that I branched out and tried different things on the menu. But, I am somewhat a creature of habit. I know what I like, what make my tummy smile....

and the French Toast Bagel with Cream Cheese and A Caramel Latte is it. I've had it 3 times. In. A. Row.

I mean just look at it. You get the option of a to-go cup or this....I choose this. The super mega awesome ceramic "sit-and-stay-awhile-chat-with-a-friend" cup.

Sometimes I branch out and get the Chai Latte...It's good too.

Panera is fast becoming my "me" spot. My spot to chat with friends. My spot, when someone says "Let's get some coffee" to chime in with "Let's get Panera." My spot to just be.....alone if I want to....I never feel rushed. And there is never a shortage of seats for my morning "me" time (I'm talking to you Starbucks).

Oh and Delilah, you make my Panera experience even more enjoyable. You are friendly, personable, helpful. Thank you for your smile. It's contagious.

If you would like to connect with Panera Bread on Twitter visit @PaneraBread
If you would like to connect with Panera Bread on Facebook visit Facebook.com/PaneraBread

I was compensated by Panera for this post, which makes it advertorial content and not a review.I was also given $20 Panera gift card towards my purchases. But I think Panera is a company worth promoting and putting my influence behind and can't recommend it enough. I am among a group of bloggers who are taking part in a 3 month promotion for Panera Bread. This is my last post for this campaign. If you catch me talking about Panera again, it may or may not be compensated. It will always be honest.
